Jesse Kavadlo, PhD, professor of English, will read from his newly published book, American Popular Culture in the Era of Terror: Falling Skies, Dark Knights Rising, and Collapsing Cultures<\/em>, at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 17, in Buder Commons.<\/p>\n

The event is free and open to the public, and will feature a reading, refreshments, and book signing.<\/p>\n

Kavadlo plans to read an\u00a0excerpt from his book about the\u00a0Hunger Games<\/em>\u00a0series and young adult\u00a0dystopia, in anticipation of the movie,\u00a0Mockingjay: Part II<\/em>, to be released Nov. 20.<\/p>\n

He\u00a0is the author of two previous books on literature:\u00a0Michael Chabon’s America: Magical Words, Secret Worlds, and Sacred Spaces<\/em> and\u00a0Don DeLillo: Balance at the Edge of Belief.<\/em><\/p>\n
