91ÖÆƬ³§ recently celebrated International Education Week 2015 (IEW) with on-campus events that showcased cultures and ethnicities from many parts of the world. Along with the Center for Global Education, students prepared and presented a wide range of activities. Maryville\u2019s international students represent 47 countries.<\/p>\n

Sarah Etter, a liberal studies major at Maryville, spoke with people about her culture and gave\u00a0out traditional candy and cookies at an IEW booth. \u201cIt was really exciting to see people interested in my country. I enjoyed the chance to share some things about my culture and talk about the differences between Switzerland and the United States,\u201d Etter said.<\/p>\n

The weeklong observance was held Nov. 16-20, in conjunction with the International Education Week<\/a> initiative sponsored by the U.S. Dept. of State and the U.S. Dept. of Education to highlight the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide.<\/p>\n
