The exhibit, \u201cJudith Shaw Body of Work: The Art of Eating Disorder Recovery,\u201d will be displayed in the Morton J. May Foundation Gallery at 91制片厂, Jan. 19 –\u00a0Feb. 26. The exhibit has been displayed nationally to wide acclaim.<\/p>\n

An opening reception, featuring a talk by local artist Judith Shaw, will be held 5 – 8 p.m. on Jan. 21, in the gallery.<\/h6>\n

Our contemporary world is bombarded with images of body perfection, which often\u00a0causes anxiety. Shaw\u2019s artwork focuses on her journey through this personal issue. “Body of Work” is a sculptural diary of life with an eating disorder. Assemblage-style forms expose complex issues underlying anorexia and the challenges of recovery. This is a raw portrait of an often misunderstood illness.<\/p>\n

The exhibit is co-sponsored by the Body Pride Team student organization in the Office of Personal Counseling, the HERO’s\u00a0student group in the Office of Health and Wellness, and the Art and Design program.<\/span><\/p>\n
