Levin\u2019s appointment coincides with academic program revisions in the humanities and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.maryville.edu\/as\/humanities\/english\/\" target=\"_blank\">English<\/a> to reflect a stronger focus on creative writing.<\/p>\n<p>Levin will teach two courses and provide writing tutorials for individual students working on major projects.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt&#8217;s exciting to join Maryville just at the moment when the University is turning towards creative writing with renewed vigor,\u201d Levin said. \u201cI look forward to working with student writers of all stripes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The academic program in English at Maryville has recently been revised to include optional concentrations in Narrative Arts, Fantasy &amp; Science Fiction and Video Literacy, which will involve interdisciplinary study across the humanities and other academic areas.<\/p>\n<p>Levin will teach two courses at Maryville beginning in the fall\u2014Advanced Creative Writing and Write Short: Fiction, Nonfiction, and Poetry. She will also offer writing tutorials for individual students working on major projects.<\/p>\n<p>Most recently, Levin\u2019s poems have been chosen for inclusion in the 2015<em> Best American Poetry<\/em>\u00a0series and <em>Boston Review&#8217;s<\/em>\u00a0Top Poems of 2014. A teacher of writing for over 20 years, Levin currently serves as co-chair and faculty of the Creative Writing and Literature department at Santa Fe University of Art and Design in Santa Fe, N.M.
