Turan Mullins was recently recognized with the Outstanding Alumni Award from Mathews-Dickey Boys’ & Girls\u2019 Club in St. Louis.<\/p>\n

Mullins was presented with the award during the organization\u2019s 47th Anniversary Awards Banquet, held Feb. 17. Over the years, he has worked\u00a0with\u00a0Mathew-Dickey members as a\u00a0mentor, through college access programs, and as part of community service projects.<\/p>\n

“I only played one season of baseball, but I never let that determine my involvement with the Club throughout my life,\u201d Mullins said. “The Club is a safe place that allows kids from all over St. Louis come and become better people. Local legends have walked those halls and played on those fields, so to be selected for this award is a huge honor.\u201d<\/p>\n

91ÖÆƬ³§ Mathews-Dickey Boys\u2019 & Girls\u2019 Club:<\/b> The Mathews-Dickey Boys’ & Girls’ Club, a non-profit organization, was founded in 1960. Initially, the Club was designed to provide structured recreational activities to neighborhood youths. Today, the Club’s goals are more focused and comprehensive, and emphasizing the three R\u2019s –\u00a0Respect, Restraint, Responsibility. The organization serves thousands of young men and women, ages 5-18, throughout the St. Louis metropolitan area.\u00a0<\/p>\n
