Findings From 91制片厂\u2019s Kids Rock Cancer Program Collaboration With the Mayo Clinic Will Be Presented Internationally<\/span><\/i><\/h2>\n


\n91制片厂\u2019s Kids Rock Cancer program (KRC), in collaboration with the Mayo Clinic, recently published a <\/span>research study<\/b><\/a> indicating that music therapy helps young cancer patients cope with their distress and provides a creative outlet for negative feelings associated with cancer treatment. The <\/span>article<\/b><\/a>, titled\u00a0 \u201cMusic Played a Role in Saving My Life and Getting Me Through All of This,\u201d made top news in the Journal of Pediatric Hematology\/Oncology Nursing.<\/span><\/p>\n

The collaboration between KRC and Mayo Clinic, which was <\/span>announced in December of last year<\/b><\/a>, continues to bring insightful findings in music therapy research and improved support and resources to music therapy cancer patients in the St. Louis region.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cTogether with Mayo Clinic, so many more children can benefit from the power of music therapy,\u201d says Crystal Weaver, MHA, LPC, CRC, MT-BC and KRC\u2019s Director of Music Therapy. \u201cMusic is an incredible outlet for processing negative emotions, and our data shows even a few short music therapy sessions can make a huge difference.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

KRC and Mayo Clinic\u2019s findings will also be featured internationally at the 17th International Family Nursing Conference in Perth, Australia this June.
