Kwame Alexander, poet, educator, and New York Times Bestselling author, is\u00a0the featured speaker for the Maryville Talks Books series presentation at 1 p.m. on Sunday, April 24, in the 91制片厂 Auditorium.<\/p>\n

\"Kwame<\/a>The event is free and open to the public, but reservations<\/a> are required.Seating is first-come, first-served. The presentation will be followed by a book signing, courtesy of Left Banks Books.<\/p>\n

Alexander\u00a0has authored 21 books, including his novel\u00a0The Crossover,\u00a0<\/i>recipient of the 2015 Newbery Medal for\u00a0the Most Distinguished Contribution to American literature for Children.\u00a0His other works include the award-winning children\u2019s picture book\u00a0Acoustic Rooster and His Barnyard Band<\/i>, recently optioned as a children\u2019s television show, and the Junior Library Selection,\u00a0He Said She Said<\/i>, a young adult novel.\u00a0The founder of two organizations, Book-in-a-Day and LEAP for Ghana, he regularly travels the world as a literacy advocate and expert.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
